Your Benefits
How a TFT Display Works
TFT stands for Thin Film Transistor. Technically, a TFT display is an advancement of the classic LCD: The liquid crystals are controlled by an active matrix. Each pixel or subpixel for red, green and blue has its own transistor, allowing it to be switched individually and very quickly. This results in sharp images, high contrast and fast response times, even when displaying moving content.
IPS TFT Display vs. TN:
A Look at the Differences
How well a display can be viewed from the side depends primarily on the panel technology. With TN panels (Twisted Nematic), colours and contrast change when the display is viewed at an angle. In an IPS TFT display (In-Plane Switching), the liquid crystals are aligned parallel to the glass surface. As a result, the image retains its colour accuracy from almost any viewing angle, typically up to 178°. Our product range includes TFT displays with both TN and IPS technology.
TFT Touch Display: Capacitive or Resistive
We offer optional touch functionality for all our TFT displays. The choice of touch technology depends on how and where your device will be used.
Capacitive (PCAP):
- Uses electrical touch fields
- Multitouch and gestures, just like on a smartphone
- Optional cover glass
- Depending on the configuration, can be operated with gloves or in wet conditions
Resistive (RTP):
- Pressure-based touch technology
- Works well with gloves of any thickness, styluses or tools

The Right Interface for Your Electronics
For a display to work with your electronics, its interface must be compatible with your microcontroller or processor. The most suitable interface depends primarily on the display size, resolution and your hardware. You can find a detailed overview in our article on the most common display interfaces. We offer the following interfaces as standard:
- SPI (3-wire / 4-wire): Requires only a few connections, ideal for small displays and simple microcontrollers
- MCU / CPU (8 or 16-bit parallel): Faster than SPI, suitable for small to medium-sized displays
- RGB (18 / 24 bit): Smooth image rendering for medium-sized displays
- CMOS / TTL: Parallel signal transmission using simple logic levels, common in small and medium-sized displays
- MIPI: High resolutions in a compact design, widely used with modern processors
- LVDS: Resistant to interference and suitable for longer cable lengths, standard for larger industrial displays
- eDP: For very high resolutions and large display formats
- UART: For displays with integrated controllers that process simple commands
TFT Displays for Industry and Measurement Technology
We have extensive experience in developing display solutions for industrial applications.
We understand that displays used in industrial environments must withstand demanding conditions. Vibrations, temperature fluctuations, dust and moisture are typical environmental factors that devices may be exposed to, depending on their application. At the same time, they are often used for many years.
That is why we place particular emphasis on long service life and high reliability in our industrial displays. This includes long-lasting backlights, stable hardware revisions and comprehensive technical documentation.
As a TFT display manufacturer, we assess the long-term availability of each model during the development phase and, where necessary, plan suitable successor models well in advance. This lays the foundation for a reliable supply throughout the entire product lifecycle.
Typical applications for industrial-grade TFT displays include:
- Operator panels and HMIs for machinery and industrial equipment
- Measurement and testing equipment
- Medical devices and diagnostic systems
- Displays and control units for outdoor applications
